Kevin Alexeff: Almost a hit of fruitiness, like pear. Perhaps a little of the yeast character peaking through.

Kevin Alexeff is drinking a 7th Anniversary Baltic Imperial Stout by Bookhouse Brewing at Bookhouse Brewing
Dark brown color. Fluffy, wood-brown head (half a glassful). Very roasty nose. The foam tasted like black coffee. The liquid was infinitely darker. Black patent roast, licorice, Baker’s chocolate. One of the most extreme Stouts I can remember. But still👇

Kevin Alexeff is drinking a Bookhouse's Best Bitter by Bookhouse Brewing at Bookhouse Brewing
Medium amber, quite hazy, ivory head. I’m sitting here trying to describe the aroma and it’s perfectly described in the brewery’s description: malty tea, herbal spice, and a Noble-ish unplaceable ephemeral “hoppy” aroma. Good balance. Bitter, but off dry.

Kevin Alexeff is drinking a CHONK: Blueberry White Chocolate by Drekker Brewing Company at Second Hill Brew Cellar
Opaque, mulberry-red color. China pink foam. Berry aroma and flavor. Creamy. I don’t really get white chocolate. Slightly vegetal near the end. Not as good as Blueberry Fluff. But still an excellent Smoothie Sour.

Kevin Alexeff is drinking a Sucré (New American Oak) (2014) by The Bruery at Second Hill Brew Cellar
Not a true Old Ale, but a truly old ale. Amber brown. Good clarity. Beige foam, didn’t last long. Brown sugar and over-ripe stone fruit. Held up well, but well past prime. I didn’t sit on this one, it came in my Reserve Society box last year.

Kevin Alexeff is drinking a Caramel Pumking by Southern Tier Brewing Company at Second Hill Brew Cellar
Pale amber. Off-white foam. Smells very caramelly, maybe w/ a hint of butter. Bitter. Flavor isn’t very caramelly or pumpkin. But it is Pumking, if I remember correctly.

Kevin Alexeff: But still enjoyable to drink. The closest thing to this that I can remember is Tiny, by Weyerbacher. Extreme, but expertly done. Interesting. I hope that Vaughn saved some of this to barrel age with an adjunct. Would be great with some tempering.

Kevin Alexeff: I highly recommend it. And they can use the business.
